Mustang sports glimpse: Week of March 4

Tuesday, March 5

The men’s and women’s golf teams will play in the RMC Intercollegiate at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Henderson Nev. The men’s team look to ride the momentum of their recent win in the Sea Beggar Invitational which saw junior Jonathan Larson’s first individual win in his season debut. The women’s team also looks to follow-up their second place finish in the Sea Beggar Invitational which saw three of their players finish within the top-10 individually.

The baseball team will play host to Westcliff University in a 2:00 p.m. game at Lou Herwaldt Stadium in Santa Clarita, Calif. The team looks to turn things around after losing two tightly contested games on Saturday against Ottawa University (AZ).

Wednesday, March 6

The men’s and women’s golf teams will conclude their play in the RMC Intercollegiate.

The men’s and women’s swim teams will compete in the NAIA Swim and Dive National Championship in the Columbus Aquatic Center in Columbus, Ga. The men’s team broke six program records while the women’s team broke three records in the Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference Championship. They look to bring that momentum to the national stage in search of a national title.

The men’s volleyball team will play against Saint Xavier University (IL) in The MacArthur Center in Santa Clarita, Calif. at 7:00 p.m. The team looks to add onto a two game winning streak, as they remain No. 1 in the nation and third in the conference.

Thursday, March 7

The men’s and women’s swim teams will continue their play in the NAIA Swim and Dive National Championship.

Friday, March 8

The men’s and women’s swim teams will continue their play in the NAIA Swim and Dive National Championship.

The baseball team will play against the University of Antelope Valley at Lou Herwaldt Stadium at 2:00 p.m. This will be the first of three games between these teams, as the team looks to climb the conference rankings.

Saturday, March 9

The men’s and women’s swim teams will conclude their play in the NAIA Swim and Dive National Championship.

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will open their outdoor season in the Oxy Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic in Los Angeles, Calif. After claiming two women’s national titles and 11 All-American awards amongst both teams, they look to continue their impressive play into their final season of the school year.

The beach volleyball team will compete against Hope International University at 10:00 a.m. and Life Pacific University at 12:00 p.m. in a doubleheader at Huntington Beach, Calif. The team looks to use their 4-1 win against Westcliff University as motivation to continue their climb up the conference standings.

The baseball team will play a doubleheader against the University of Antelope Valley (UAV) at Lou Herwaldt Stadium, with the first game starting at 11:00 a.m. and the second game starting 30 minutes after the first game. This will also be the last ever matchup between these teams, as UAV is shutting their doors at the end of the spring season.
