On Feb. 2 at MB2 Entertainment in Santa Clarita, 30 international students from The Master’s University (TMU) gathered for their first international event of the semester. The event was initiated by the International Student Liaison (ISL) team and Brayden Campos, the university’s director of outreach and international student advancement. The event aimed at fostering fellowship and a sense of belonging among the diverse international community at TMU.

Each student received a $10 card, which granted them access to various activities like mini golf, go-karting, bowling and arcade games. In these activities, students formed groups and enjoyed friendly competition. The students then assembled in the lobby to enjoy complimentary ice cream, offered in many flavors. It was an evening filled with laughter and encouragement for the students.

Chris Song a sophomore from Canada said he “had a great time, met some really cool international students and went go karting.”

Following the event, several students shared their experiences. Cambria Berthiaume, a sophomore from the United Kingdom expressed, “This event was a sweet way of fellowshipping and getting to know students who relate to me. The ISL team was welcoming and encouraging as usual, and it was just another sweet event that made me feel at home at Masters.”

“It was a pleasure, and I won mini golf! I also appreciated bonding with the cool international students,” said William Samuelsson, a freshman from Sweden.

“I haven’t been able to go to a ton of international events and I am so glad I was able to come to this one,” said Lydia Borisuk, a senior from China. “The fellowship and friendships that I made and deepened made it so wonderful.”

The event created memories and connections for the international student community. As the semester unfolds, they look forward to more events, further strengthening their bonds.
