Mustang sports glimpse: Week of Feb. 26

Monday, Feb. 26

The men’s and women’s golf teams will play in the Sea Beggar Invitational at Olivas Links Golf Club in Ventura. The men’s team looks to gather momentum as Junior Jonathan Larson makes his season debut with the team. The women’s team looks to ride the momentum of sophomore Hannah Ulibarri’s individual win in the PCH Invitational on Feb. 13.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

The men’s and women’s golf teams will conclude play in the Sea Beggar Invitational at Olivas Links Golf Club in Ventura.

Thursday, Feb. 29

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship in the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, South Dakota. They look to ride the momentum of their program record performance at the Golden Eagle Invitational on Feb. 17.

The men’s and women’s basketball teams will play in the GSAC championships in the Darling Pavilion at Fullerton, Calif. The men’s team finished tied for first in the regular season standings with Arizona Christian University after their win against Menlo College on Saturday. The women’s team finished tied for third with Jessup University in the regular season standings after losing to Menlo College on Saturday.

The men’s volleyball team will play against Simpson University in The MacArthur Center at 7 p.m. The team suffered a 3-2 loss against conference rivals Vanguard University on Saturday. Despite their loss, they look to continue their dominant play as they still sit No. 1 in the NAIA coach’s poll.

Friday, March 1

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will continue their play in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship in the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, South Dakota.

The men’s and women’s basketball team will continue their play in their respective GSAC championship tournaments in the Darling Pavilion in Fullerton, Calif.

The baseball team will travel to Surprise, Arizona to play the first of three games against Ottawa University. The team hopes to ride the momentum of a 14-3 win in the latter half of a doubleheader and put behind the two losses against Hope International prior to their recent win.

The beach volleyball team will play against California State University, Northridge and Westcliff University in a doubleheader in Northridge. They hope to break a three-game losing streak as they sit fourth in the conference standings.

Saturday, March 2

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will conclude their play in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championship

The men’s basketball team will conclude their play in the GSAC Men’s Basketball Championship.

The baseball team will play a doubleheader against Ottawa University in Surprise, Arizona.

The men’s volleyball team will play against Menlo College in Atherton, California at 1 p.m. The team looks to overtake Menlo in the conference standings, as both sit tied for third in the conference despite the team’s impressive overall record.
