Just like in the last two games against San Diego Christian and Menlo College, the Women’s Volleyball team beat William Jessup in a clean sweep, three to zero.

“The girl’s treated them as a formidable opponent, somebody that could beat them,”said Head Coach Allan Vince. “They didn’t let their guard down and I felt like that was a big difference between other times that we’ve played opponents with that type of record.”

The Mustangs brought their play style to the court on Saturday, with Madi Fay leading the charge with 10 kills and 3 blocks to her name.

The Lady Mustangs played a solid game with Madi Fay leading with 10 kills and three blocks. Kayla Sims added 16 assists and 6 kills to her efforts, along with Jane Cisar and Reagan Tate, with 6 kills each.

“Madi Fay was big on the right side, she didn’t have a big game last night, but she played smart tonight, found her opportunities and took big swings so she was excellent,” said Vince. “Autumn did a great job blocking, so did Jane our middle. And I am very pleased with how Kayla played.”

Saturday’s game was not all for the Lady Mustangs, however. On Tuesday, they went up against Vanguard, the number three team in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC), where they won three to two.

“It’s a quick turn around. We’ve got Sunday and Monday to prepare. Sunday is the day of rest, that’s a preparation day, just to rest,” Vince said prior to the game. “Then Monday we’re gonna focus on dimming the lights in here, because Vanguard’s gym is very much of a dark place.”

Even though Master’s holds the #1 spot in the GSAC right now does not mean Vanguard will be an easy win for the team.

“I think we just need to mentally be aware that we can lose to any team and Vanguard had been doing pretty well this season,” said Jane Cisar, a junior Liberal Studies. “I think we need to mentally stay the same and play as we tough as any other team and stay disciplined.”
